okay, i have decided to give the windsong project an actual working title. that title is-- *drumroll*-- a certain darkness! and yes, it will probably be a novel. so that will make it three novels i am working on:

--orange pekoe.
--angora fix.
--a certain darkness.

um, i guess accidental rogues counts as a fourth novel, too. so that's four. not to mention innumerable short stories, some of which i've begun, some of which are just floating in my head. and comics! ah, yes... comics...

me = a sucker for self-punishment.

but! a happy realization! if i split pekoe into multiple volumes (as it looks like i am going to), then i think i have enough for the first volume. so i can start to look for an agent for it! as well as an agent for i private eye. hopefully i can find an agent who will support both projects, as different as they are? er. the business end of writing is really very hard for me. a real trial. i have NO head for business. it is a miracle, a real miracle, that i have submitted as many stories as i have and gotten a couple of them accepted.

finished another chapter of pekoe last night. will go back and revise. wrote a fair amount of a certain darkness too. aaaaah! the new characters are so cute! i want to eat them for breakfast! i might post some more of that soon.

I'm so excited and proud of you for pursuing this agent angle to get your work published. You definitely have the enthusiasm and creativity to create something wonderful -- and sell-able. Knock 'em out, Erin. :)

awww, thanks. well, i have a lot of research and work to do. and i am pursued by a constant fear of failure! argh! it'll be hard for me. but hey, why not try? i won't give up!

i'll give "knockin' em out" my best shot. :)

The next J. K. Rowling!

Um, okay, maybe not. I'm sure you prefer to be the next Dostoyevsky (sp?) anyway. But I think there are books out there that can help you follow the right steps to get published? You know, like Writer's Market or Getting Published for Dummies or something? I'm sure you know more about that kind of thing than I do, but just in case you've overlooked your local library's assistance...

ha ha. i think i'll settle for being the first-- well, me. ^_^

yes, i have some of those books. they're the books i've used to get the stories i've published thus far published. valuable resources! i've done a lot of research on how to do it (though i will certainly do more, for good measure). now i have to research particular agents and find one who might like my stuff. and then i have to actually write the query letters. my least favorite part!

thank you.
